Instructions
1. Pour the canned crushed tomatoes into a mixing bowl. If the tomatoes are whole, crush them with a masher or fork.
2. Add salt, oregano leaves, olive oil, and minced garlic.
3. Tear fresh basil leaves and stir in gently.
4. Mix well and taste for seasoning.
5. Use immediately or refrigerate in a sealed jar for up to 5 days.
Notes
Note#1: If the tomatoes are whole, crush them with a masher or fork. You can also use a food processor to crush them. Tomatoes: San Marzano tomatoes give this sauce its classic Italian flavor. If unavailable, use the best-quality canned tomatoes you can find.No-cook: This is a raw sauce—don’t cook it before spreading on pizza.
