Ingredients
Sauce
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Chinese cooking wine
Main Ingredients
- 2 tbsp oil vegetable or canola
- 1 large onion chopped
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 cups frozen vegetables e.g., peas, carrots, corn, and bell peppers
- 14 oz chow mein noodles
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 green onions chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the chow mein noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a large pan or wok over medium-high heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Push the onion and garlic to the sides of the pan and add the ground beef in the center.
- Break up the beef with a spatula or spoon and cook until it is browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the frozen vegetables to the pan and stir to combine with the beef mixture.
- Cook until the vegetables are heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, and Chinese cooking wine. Combine well.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the pan with the beef and vegetables, stirring to coat everything evenly.
- Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the pan and toss everything together until the noodles are well-coated with the sauce and heated through.
- Drizzle the sesame oil over the noodles and toss again to mix.
- Transfer the noodles to serving plates or a large serving bowl.
- Garnish with chopped green onions.
